If you have any further questions please contact our sales department by sending an email to sales@chronopay.com or give them a call at +31 20 7940110. Q: If I apply for an Internet Merchant Account (IMA) with ChronoPay, will I get a true direct Merchant Account with my own descriptor? A: Yes, you will obtain your own Internet Merchant Account with your own Merchant Identification (MID). You become a direct Merchant by contracting with an acquiring bank (a Card Association Member). This Merchant relationship is what allows you to accept Visa and MasterCard transactions under your business name. You will also be required to establish a contractual relationship with ChronoPay, who will handle your online credit card payment processing. As a direct Merchant of an acquiring bank, you are able to set your own descriptor. The descriptor is what the cardholder sees on his credit card statement when he or she buys something from your online store. Your descriptor should identify your online store, so that the cardholder recognizes the transaction, minimizing the likelihood that they will "dispute" the transaction. It should also contain your contact information, so the customer can easily inquire about the transaction, if they do not remember what they purchased. Example Descriptor: "JeansMusicStore.com", (800) 123-4567. Q: If I do not wish to apply for an Internet Merchant Account, can I still use your payment services? A: Yes, you can. In addition to being a PSP, which is perfect for Merchants with their own Internet Merchant Account, ChronoPay is also an IPSP, which is ideal for Merchants with low monthly turnover and/or those who do not wish to acquire an Internet Merchant Account.Q: If my company is incorporated outside the EU region, can I still use your services? A: No, we can only accept merchants, who are incorporated in the EU region. If you wish to use our services, but your company is not currently incorporated in the European Union, we can assist you in getting the proper EU registrations. Please contact us at sales@chronopay.com to inquire about getting registered in the EU.Q: How long will it take from the time I complete the ChronoPay online application until I can start accepting online payments on my Website? A: That depends on how quickly you supply us with the required documents to apply for your Merchant Account. Typically, the entire application procedure for the Internet Merchant Account takes between 4 and 6 weeks.Q: I would like to receive an offer from ChronoPay. What do I need to do? A: Please fill in the application form. One of our Account Executives will get in touch with you regarding getting set up with us. |
