Q: I heard that you can offer me either an IPSP solution or that you can help me get my own Internet Merchant Accounts (IMA). Can you please explain what the difference is?

A: With our IPSP solution you can make use of a Merchant Account which already exists, so you are not required to get your own. This is a significant advantage in that the application procedure is shorter compared to the application period for getting your own Internet Merchant Account. However, because it is not your Merchant Account, the disadvantage is that the descriptor (what the cardholder sees on his credit card statement when he or she buys something from your online store) will not be completely of your choosing. Instead, it will be: chrpay.com/ "your company name (11 characters)".

Q: What credit cards and debit cards are supported by ChronoPay?

Q: How is the descriptor determined?

A: The descriptor, which is what the cardholder sees on his credit card statement when he or she buys something from you, is determined in one of two ways. If you are processing using YOUR own Internet Merchant Account, you get to decide what the descriptor will be. Your descriptor should clearly identify your online store, so that the cardholder recognizes the transaction. It should also contain your contact information, so the customer can easily inquire about the transaction, if they do not remember what they purchased. This will minimize the likelihood that the customer will "dispute" the transaction, resulting in a chargeback. Example Descriptor: "JeansMusicStore.com", (800) 123-4567.

On the other hand, if you are using our IPSP solution, which does not require you to get your own IMA, your customers will see chrpay.com/ "your company name (11 characters)" on their credit card statement. In this case, you get to chose what will appear in the 11 characters.

Q: Is your payment solution integrated with any known shopping carts?

A: Yes, our payment processing solutions are integrated with many popular shopping carts. Please visit the "Compatible Shopping Carts' section on our website to find an overview of the shopping carts we are integrated with. If you do not see the shopping cart you currently use or wish to use, please contact us and we will consider integrating to it.
